“Shut up and dance” is a phrase used a lot by tango milongueros. They don’t care to talk, watch demonstrations or performances they just want to dance. Then they want to complain about crowded dance floors and dance some more.
Look to those that are dancing every tanda, that is where the tango happens. Not on stage or on the sidelines but in the arms of another tango dancer. So they walk their talk by dancing when they could be talking about tango.
It takes thousands of hours of hard practice and dancing to really learn tango! So, maybe there is wisdom in the phrase: shut up and dance – said with the utmost of respect, of course
