Founders of the Annual Tucson Tango Festival
Joanne, friends call her Jo, was introduced to and fell in love with Argentine Tango in early 2005 taking lessons with Rusty. After extensive study and training she partnered up with Rusty and has been teaching group classes and private lessons ever since. Together they have traveled to Buenos Aires and to numerous festivals in the US to study with and dance with the many Masters of Tango. They bring these wide-ranging experiences back to the local classroom in order to provide an open, welcoming and intensive learning environment.
Argentine Tango is a growth experience in which Jo will never stop learning. “To grow in my dance is to grow in my life. I love to offer aspiring tango dancers with the building blocks to discover their own growth. Loving tango is loving life!”
Now in 2009, having studied the music since 2005 Jo is a well respected local Tucson, AZ Argentine Tango DJ. Her philosophy is to provide a traditional format focused on getting the dancer out of their chair and onto the dance floor.
